Okay, so we’ve gotta talk about the elephant in the room. As a girl with a love for Harry Potter, I have an appreciation for fandom though I don’t partake in this one (or any other, for that matter).

See It In Baltimore on the 23rd
So for those out there that love Dr. Who, I’m sure you already know the 50th anniversary event will be occurring tomorrow, the 23th. Locally, if you don’t have cable or just want to be social, you can head over to The Baltimore Science Fiction Society (yep, that’s a thing) and check it out. They’ll be showing the special plus have Dr. Who themed board games, snacks, and all that good stuff.

See It In 3D on the 25th
If you’re feeling epic, you can wait til the 25th and see it on the big screen in 3D. It’s showing at most of the major theatres in the area  including Columbia, White Marsh, Arundel Mills.  

Note: If you really want to see it in theatres on the premiere date (the 23rd), you can head on over to Philly.

Bring A Date?
If you both happen to be into Dr. Who, the BSFS screening is a good way to meet like minded people and have a really fun afternoon. An added benefit is that the Science Fiction Society screening occurs during the day. So you’re already by Patterson Park and can take your pick of neighborhoods for the night to get dinner or head to the bars.

Find A Date?
Well you both are already super into the same thing. What a good way to kick things off! If you go to the 23rd screening there will be much more time for socializing than if you wait til the theatre. It would be a good idea to meet someone on the 23rd and then take them out on the 25th to see it in 3D!

For the BSFS screening, bring a snack to share, ask someone to play Dr. Who Monopoly, or offer up a swig from your flask (I have no idea what the alcohol rules are so don’t blame me if that gets you in trouble). As for the theatre, a movie date is a movie date but increase your chances of picking up a nerdy companion by dressing the part.
